Program Description
By Executive Order, Governor Perdue formed the Georgia Interagency Homeless Coordination Council (GIHCC) in 2004. The Council is co-chaired by DHS Commissioner B. J. Walker and DCA Commissioner Mike Beatty. Members of the council represent widely diverse State agencies, entities and policymakers. The GIHCC meets quarterly (subgroups meet more often), and has developed the State's Plan to End Chronic Homelessness in 10 Years. Governor Perdue endorsed the initial work of the Council, and it continues to work toward full implementation of the Plan.
