The Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) Program provides shelter and essential services to homeless persons throughout the state by making available State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless Commission (HTF) funds and Federal HUD ESG funds to nonprofit organizations and local government entities operating homeless housing and/or providing services to the homeless. This program is principally designed to be the first step in a continuum of assistance to enable homeless individuals and families to move toward independent living as well as to prevent homelessness.
