Number of Units: 31
Project Activity: Acquisition / Rehabilitation
Willow Apartments is a thirty-one unit USDA Farmers Home Administration 515 interest credit financed property originally constructed in 1991. The building design is a mix of townhomes and flats that will be completely gutted and rehabbed. The current residents are primarily families and single parents with children living and working in the area. Most of the relocation during construction can be accomplished by moving residents within the community.
The rehabilitation of these units will incorporate a number of energy efficiency components that will contribute to the long term viability of the development in accordance with the objectives of the recovery legislation. Some of the components include solar hot water heaters, Energy Star rated light fixtures, Low-E windows with a U value of 0.35 or less and a SHGF of 0.35 or less, programmable touch-screen thermostats, 16 SEER HVAC units, R-15 wall insulation and R-50 attic insulation. By incorporating the aforementioned energy efficiency items there will be a considerable savings in utility cost to the residents of this community.
