2009 International Energy Conservation Code Task Force Program Description | Downloads & Related Links | Contact Information Charge to the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code Task ForceThe 2009 International Conservation Code (IECC) Task Force is charged with assessing the differences between the 2006 IECC with Georgia Supplements and Amendments (existing code) and the 2009 IECC, and making recommendations regarding its adoption and any necessary supplements and amendments to the State Codes Advisory Committee (SCAC). The task force is also responsible for providing a recommendation on the adoption of ASHRAE 90.1-2007. This task force is being conducted under the Governor’s directive in accordance with funding received under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The provisions for this funding require that the Georgia State Minimum Standard Energy Code be no less stringent than the 2009 IECC for residential construction and ASHRAE 90.1-2007 for commercial construction. The tentative effective date for the 2009 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2007 with any necessary supplements and amendments is January 1, 2011.
