2010 CDBG Awards
The Governor’s Office has announced the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2010 Annual Competition Awards at the following link: http://gov.georgia.gov/00/press/detail/0,2668,78006749_162556798_162823415,00.html.
One hundred fifty-nine local governments submitted requests for over $74 million in projects across the state while approximately $35.6 million was available to fund local proposals. With these available dollars, 75 projects will receive funding and move forward this year.
The Recipients’ workshop will be held September 30, 2010 – October 1, 2010 at the Callaway Conference Center in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The workshop memo and draft agenda are below:

For those local governments not receiving awards this year, DCA will provide an explanation of your CDBG score and suggest ways to improve your application for next year’s competition.

DCA received 148 Annual Competition applications for FY 2009 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and 44 applications for Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) funds, including applications for the CHIP Revitalization set-aside.
DCA received 142 Annual Competition applications for FY 2008 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and 35 applications for Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) funds, including applications for the CHIP Revitalization set-aside. In connection with the CDBG and CHIP applications, seven communities received credit for their efforts at using state law and other public and private resources to revitalize areas in greatest need. Based on total funding of approximately $36 million in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), 64 CDBG grants and 15 CHIP applications were awarded.
