The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is pleased to present its latest publication Georgia CityScapes. Highlighting 173 Georgia cities, CityScapes provides profiles on the history, people, government and economy of these select cities. It is our goal that CityScapes serve as a useful tool to help readers explore and understand the cities that make Georgia unique.

Georgia CityScapes profiles county seats and cities with populations of 10,000 or more. Profiling cities ranging from small, rural communities to large metropolitan areas, this diverse publication provides a reference tool for educators, researchers, students, business leaders, and elected officials. For each city, four sections are presented: Community Profile, Demographics, Economy and Local Finance. The data compiled for each section is taken from a number of sources including federal, state and local government agencies and publications.

The cities of Athens, Augusta, and Columbus are part of consolidated governments which have characteristics of both city and county government. A CityScape publication was not prepared for these three cities; however, the County Snapshot for these three consolidated governments can be accessed by clicking on one of the following links: Clarke County (Athens-Clarke), Richmond County (Augusta-Richmond), or Muscogee County (Columbus-Muscogee).

For additional information on county level data, please refer to Georgia County Snapshots. We welcome your comments on CityScapes and other publications and reports that DCA provides.
